Northern Finland just raised the glamping game with a brand new hotel experience on skis


See the Northern lights from the comfort of your bed with Off The Map Travel’s amazing new Finnish mobile cabin. 

The comfortably cozy portable room, which includes a clear Aurora viewing roof, is located six kilometers east of Kilpisjärvi, Finland and is available to book until mid-April.

Statistically, the Kilpisjärvi area has more clear night skies and records more Northern Lights activity than any other place in Finland – making it the best place to go starry-eyed. Experts have estimated that if the sky is clear, visitors have more than a 70% chance of seeing the Northern Lights.

Providing the ultimate combination of adventure and comfort, those staying in the new wilderness rooms will be able to enjoy the amazing scenery within a cozy cabin.

The space also includes a comfy wide bed for gazing at the sky above, a table, dry toilet and a gas heater with thermostat to ensure a warm and cozy night. 

What’s more, guests will also have exclusive use of the cabin’s snowshoes and kicksleds for further exploring.

What’s included in the experience:
• The adventure begins at 6pm where an experienced guide transports guests by snowmobile to their room for the night.
• Then, attendees will learn how to make campfire and grill some local sausages.
• After the wilderness grill, guests will have the camp to themselves to hunt for the Northern Lights and enjoy the peace of the Arctic wilderness.
• To fuel guests’ Northern Lights hunting, local snacks and hot drinks are provided, with a warming breakfast also included in the overnight experience.
