Until 8th September, the City String Ensemble’s String Quartet will be performing on The Kensington’s front terrace.

The group will serenade every Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:30pm, helping guests get into the spirit of The Proms. 7 Dig into Oriental delights at Royal China Club

Good news if you’re a fan of Chinese, the elegant Royal China Club at 38-42 Baker Street, London W1 is officially reopen.

During its four-month renovation the restaurant has doubled in size to 180 seats; as it now encompasses the additional space which was a former building society on the corner plot at the junction of Baker Street and Blandford Street. The restaurant has also acquired five elegant private rooms suitable for group dining for six to twenty guests.

Royal China Club has been located on Baker Street for 12 years and its established Head Chef Billy Wong has worked for the restaurant since the opening. For the launch, Billy has created a menu which skilfully blends authentic Chinese dishes with European ingredients. Starters will feature Fresh Abalone Tossed with Caviar (Cold), and Crispy King Prawns with Chilli & Peppercorn.

New main dishes added to the extensive menu will include Roast Whole Suckling Pig, Wild Scottish Lobster, Barbecued Peking Duck, Steamed Minced Iberian Pork with Salted Egg, plus plenty more. For those with room, there’s also tempting dim sum too.

12 Sink your teeth into street-food with KERB


Street-food specialists KERB have launched Camden Lates, a run of Friday night events that will offer a great place to get some dinner, drink cocktails and dance around to DJ sets in Camden Market.

Kicking off on Friday 20th July, Camden Lates will see DJs like Norman Jay and Jazzie B take their turns behind the decks each week, running from 6pm to 10pm every Friday until 31st August. Entry for each event is free.

All 34 of KERB’s popular street-food traders have secured an extended curfew, which is superb news if you’re coming from the office, ready to eat.

Highlights among the line-up include jerk fried chicken by Only Jerkin, Taiwanese steamed buns from Bian Dang and bagel melts plated up by Ghetto Grillz.

There’s also to be vegan tacos from Club Mexicana and healthy curries which are made from scratch by Sonita’s Kitchen. It’s truly a great place to sample the best of London’s fabulously diverse food circuit.

And once you’re done tucking in? There’s signature cocktails and a selection of local beers to be had at the venue’s two bars – KERB Bar and KERB Counter.

Let’s be honest: good company, tasty street food and a few drinks is going to end up on the dance floor. Taking care of the music will be a different DJ each week, beginning with Dig It Sound System on 20th July and closing with Mi-Soul Radio at the end of August.

14 Sip on satirical cocktails at Scarfes Bar

Scarfes Bar at Rosewood London has launched a spirited new cocktail menu in the style of a beautifully vandalised book, featuring drinks inspired by the satirical work of the bar’s namesake: Gerald Scarfe.

Enjoy a delectable menu inspired by key cultural figures in recent British history year-on-year, ranging from 2001 to 2018. From Paul McCartney to Boris Johnson, the creative menu features extraordinary techniques, rare ingredients and even some never-before-seen caricatures.

An artwork in itself, the menu joins the extensive gallery of Gerald’s work that currently adorns the bar’s marble walls.

15 Enjoy designer desserts at Bluebird, Chelsea


Camilla Elphick, the award-winning British footwear brand has collaborated with British restaurant, Bluebird in Chelsea to create a dessert menu of two of her favourite things, ice cream and shoes.

Based on Camilla’s signature designs, My Favourite Things Menu will launch on the 13th August for the month and incorporates playful details from each shoe into the puddings, from the infamous ‘Silver Lining Boot’ arrow detail, heart silhouettes inspired by her celebrity favoured ‘Lover’ styles and of course her iconic PEZ heel.
